Once a website has been developed, you have two options.
- You can maintain it yourself which requires weekly/monthly reviews to ensure all WordPress (CMS), Plug-ins, and Themes are up-to-date
- You can purchase our NerdCare, have our team monitor the site and give you the peace of mind that everything is up-to-date and secured.
If not you leave you and your business open to malicious online attacks. Mind you our Nerds Hosting team works tirelessly to eliminate the majority of major threats, however with out due diligence on the Website Owners side we can\’t ensure you will not be a victim.
If you have had a website developed by us, there is a good chance you have chosen or are running a WooTheme in your WordPress Site.
What is a WooTheme?
WooThemes are the name given by a company for all their Themes. (Empire, Simplicity, Kaboodle, ETC) The theme is what gives your website it\’s look and feel. Where the logo is positioned, the location of the content, and perhaps the slider on your homepage. The framework and structure that makes it function.
Now that you understand what I am referring to, I will quickly show you how to ensure you have the latest \”Framework\” for your website to ensure you secure and protect your site to the best of your abilities. This only applies if you have a WooTheme installed on your website. You will know by following the steps below.
- Hover over the Theme name and click \”Update Framework\”. If you do not see this you are not running a WooTheme, therefore this does not apply.
If your Framework is up to date you will see as show below. If not you will see a link to update the \”Framework\” and it will show your current version and the revised version. You may need your FTP information to complete this.
Once you have done this your Framework is up-to-date and secured. Wootheme\’s current Framework is 5.5.3
