Mail Security: Port 587

\"\"Our team continues to work at further building stability and security into everything we do. Accordingly, we are going to take the next step in increasing the security our mail services.
When email is sent through a non-secured connection, this means that your username, password and entire email contents are being sent in plain-text, making it trivial for a malicious user to intercept this information. For this reason, we are now discontinuing port 587 for SMTP connections on our mail server.
We understand that in certain extreme circumstances a client will have no choice but to use port 587. If you are a client that feels you absolutely need to have access to port 587, please contact your Primary Nerd, and they will be able to help you find a solution.
As of September 26, 2012, port 587 will be discontinued on our system.
